Hello everybody!
I can't believe this is my third week being here at the MTC! I just have 3 more to go. Crazy how fast it's all flying by.
So this letter is going to be kind of short because there really hasn't been anything interesting happening here. It's kind of just the same day over and over for a whole week. haha.
On Sunday March 1st, we had fast Sunday! My first fast Sunday here at the MTC. I actually really liked fast Sunday. I usually am not a fan of it because I'm starving at the end of the day, but this time I actually put aside my feelings of hunger/thirst, and focused on the Lord and all that he has done for me. It was an amazing Sunday. I loved it.
My companion and I also got to teach some investigators this week, Perla and Emily. Understanding Cebuano when they speak to me is still so hard, but I can say certain words/sentences in Cebuano for them to understand. I can also pray in Cebuano!! I'm so excited and happy I can do that. My companion has had the hardest time trying to pray in Cebuano, but when we taught our investigator, Perla, Sister Tauteoli ended the lesson with a prayer; and we don't even really know what she said during the prayer. She said Cebuano words we haven't really learned before, like Kalinaw (Peace). It was insane! The gift of tongues is real people!!
I think the worst part about this week was saying goodbye to one of my favorite Districts. District 45 D left for the Philippines on Wednesday, at 3 in the morning! It was the saddest and hardest goodbye ever. I loved every single one of the missionaries in that District. My favorite missionaries in that district were Elder Faamoe and Elder Dapat. They are two of the best missionaries I've met. It's crazy how they can be spiritual but fun at the same time. They are so outgoing and kind to everyone. I loved that they really "got" me and my sense of humor. But they all are going to do such amazing things in the Philippines. I'm so happy for all of them and am looking forward to going to the Philippines as well!
I love you and wish you all the best!
Love,
-Sister Johnson
